§ 00 — Contact · Brooklyn, NY

The front desk for documents that can’t afford a wrong word.

Whether it’s a claim set bound for the EPO or a manual headed for a factory floor in Saxony, tell us what you have and when you need it in hand. We’ll take it from there — a fixed price in writing, the same desk day.

Pick whichever suits the file

Ring, write, describe it, or come by — every route lands on the same desk.

There’s no sales team between you and the linguist. Whoever answers is someone who reads your language pair, and they’ll already be thinking about your glossary by the time you hang up.

  1. Telephone

    (917) 414-5555

Best when a deadline lands this week, or when the question is easier to ask out loud — “will a JPO response fit in six days?”

AnsweredLive, 10am–6pm Eastern, seven days a week

  2. Best for sending the file itself, with any existing glossary, translation memory or earlier version attached alongside.

You’ll hear backA written fixed quote the same desk day

  3. Transmittal sheet

    Fill it in below ↓

Best when the document can’t leave your firm yet — describe it, we sign your NDA, then the file follows.

You’ll hear backBy email, with a secure upload link

  4. The desk itself

    1264 57Th St, Brooklyn

Best for a sit-down glossary review with your engineer, or collecting signed certificates of accuracy in person.

The desk, read on your clock

Our ten-to-six, translated into your working day.

We keep Brooklyn hours, but plenty of our files start life in Munich, Madrid, Mexico City or Tokyo. The pale bar shows when the phone is answered where you are; the marker shows the time there right now.

Writing from Germany
Our morning meets your late afternoon — call after your last meeting and you’ll catch us fresh at the start of the day.
Writing from Spain
Send the file before you leave the office; the fixed quote is waiting when you open your inbox the next morning.
Writing from Mexico
Our desk day sits almost entirely inside yours, so a phone call is usually the quickest route.
Writing from Japan
Email in your evening. We read it when we open, and the quote is in your inbox before you start work.

Clocks change on different dates in the US, Europe and Mexico, and not at all in Japan — so the bars are worked out from your device’s clock each time you visit.

Call while we’re at the desk

Transmittal sheet

Describe the document. We’ll come back with a price that holds.

A few lines is plenty — what it is, which direction it’s going, and when it’s due. If the file is confidential, keep it to yourself for now; we’ll send an NDA and a secure upload link in our reply.

Worth knowing before you come

  • Bring the paper original if a certificate needs to reference it page by page.
  • For a glossary review with your engineer, call ahead so the linguist on your file is at the desk.
  • Signed certificates can be collected in person on any day we’re open.

Before you send

The small questions that come up on first contact.

Answered here so you don’t have to wait on us for them.

Q · 01

Should our NDA come before the file?

Please — that’s the usual order. Email it to ask@eddyquill.com and we’ll sign and return it within the desk day, before you share a single page of an unpublished application.

Q · 02

The file is too big to email.

Describe it in the transmittal sheet or on the phone and we’ll reply with a secure upload link that comfortably takes packaged InDesign folders and scanned prior-art bundles.

Q · 03

We need it far sooner than standard.

Call rather than write. Rush runs at roughly half the standard turnaround for 40% added to the package, and we’ll tell you honestly on the call whether your page count fits the date.

Q · 04

We’re writing outside desk hours.

Send it anyway. Overnight notes are the first thing we read at 10am Eastern, and the fixed quote goes out before we close at 6pm that same day.
